John Frietze is the owner of GTG Overhauling Services. He is a retired U.S. Navy veteran with deep roots in the cooling tower industry. He started in this field decades ago, working alongside his family inspecting, maintaining, and constructing cooling towers. After spending some time in college, he realized he wanted a different challenge, so he enlisted in the Navy and began his career as a Rescue Swimmer.

After 20 years of dedicated service, he retired from the military and returned to the cooling tower industry as an Operations Manager for a major company. That experience strengthened his leadership skills and reinforced his commitment to quality and safety. Eventually, he took the leap into entrepreneurship, partnering to open a cooling tower company that operated for three years before the partnership ended.

When that chapter closed, he and his wife didn’t hesitate — they launched GTG Overhauling Services. Now entering its fourth year, the company remains committed to delivering the highest quality service, maintenance, and parts to keep its customers’ cooling towers running efficiently and in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

His mission is simple: provide exceptional service, stand behind the work, and uphold the highest standards in the industry.
